done for the first part....lesson learnt: know your book well..

Alhamdulillah sekarang baru selesai menduduki ujian trial a level bahagian as (advance subsidiary)....insyaAllah, minggu depan pulak akan duduki ujian bahagian a2....

Hmm, berbalik kepada lesson learnt tadi, why must you know your books well?
The answer lies to the hands of the beholder.....i mean, those who like books, read books, and love to be with books....it is crucial to know your book well....

1. Better revision

By knowing your books, you can plan on what topics to be revised and how much time can you spend on certain topics. Some topics are meant to be revised for a few minutes (depends on your understanding) while other topics might need a greater attention, therfore we need to focus much of the revision time to revise the topic. The books have its chapter and description, thus planning your revision based on the importance of the information and how frequent it has been asked in exam might help you to maximise your study time and revise well.

2. Improve your English too

Books are written in suitable language structure and easy for the readers to understand. By revising the books, you will know how to write the answers perfectly and not distorting the actual meaning. Sometimes we claim that we understand, however, the way we present the concept, ideas and the information that we know does not portray your understanding. This happens in exams where you will have 'explain' questions and need to give relevan examples. Knowing your books meaning that knowing the style of writing, and also the way the author conveys the information. You will know how to answer those questions with ease and a good style of writing. Exams is not about answers only, language matters too.

3. help to recall faster and make better notes

Books are full of information and it seems to be quite impossible to memorise all of the informations (unless if you are a genius and you're reading this post, me shall exclude you from this quote...). Knowing your books will be really helpful in terms of memory recall. For example, when we are doing exercise or past years questions, we sometimes get stuck with the question and need to find a book for solution. By knowing your book, you will know which chapter to go, which section to refer or which diagram to be taken as the answer. Instead of flipping through the content page for the information, you can just flip to the particular section (thanks for the powerful functions of neurones that stores memory inside the brain).

Moreover, you can make a better and simple notes that can be carried moments before the exam. Using a more comprehensive notes will reduce the burden to bring heavy books during exam time and also save your energy. Well, do you get what i'm saying?

Finally, what we learn is what we know, and what we practice is what we understand. it reminds me of 10 characters of a good muslim described by As-Syahid Hassan Al-Banna, some of them are knowledgeable and have a strong basis in ibadat (correct me if my description is wrong).

InsyaAllah, with Allah's blessings and help, we will succeed in this exam, both world and the Hereafter. Do our best in exams is part of the ibadat, and as muslims, we need to show our academic qualities too, regardless of what you are, where you study and what subjects you've taken.

All the best!!!!

ps: one more week and me will be happy. the 'kids' are getting taller and can't wait for them to mature.....haha
